Questions we hear most

How do I know if I need a new roof?

Through hot and cold seasons composite shingles expand and contract, which can open small gaps and break down the adhesive. That is gradual wear and tear, so it is never a bad idea to have the roof inspected for damage before it is too late.

When should I file an insurance claim?

Under obviously extreme conditions you should contact your insurance company to report a claim. For minor leaks or damage costing less than your deductible, consider saving the claim for larger repairs such as a roof replacement. A free inspection can determine the best course of action.

Does filing a claim raise my premium?

For wind and hail claims your insurance company cannot drop you or raise your premium because you filed a new claim. In cases of massive catastrophe an insurer’s national average may rise slightly to make up for the loss.

How long does it take to process a claim?

Depending on your insurance adjuster’s workload, weather conditions and other factors, it typically takes about five to ten business days for the insurance company to process a claim.

How long does a full roof replacement take?

Under city ordinance tear-off can begin no earlier than 7am and heavy machinery no earlier than 8am. A re-roof of one layer of shingles on a one-story house often takes a single day, and larger projects take no more than two full days including thorough clean-up, weather permitting.

Do you provide roofing services in my area?

We serve the entire Middle Tennessee area from our Nashville headquarters. Give us a call and we can confirm whether your address falls inside the service area.

Do I need to be present for the free inspection?

It may be in your best interest to be present so our team can give the most accurate assessment. There are often questions about the roof or property that are easier to explain and demonstrate in person, and we are glad to work around your schedule.

Is it safe to layer new shingles over an existing roof?

Installing multiple layers is not a wise decision. Two or three layers can add up to 720lbs per 100 square feet, which can cause permanent cosmetic damage such as bowing in the decking and can put excessive weight on rafters until they split or break.
