Questions we hear most

How do I know if I need a new roof?

Through the hot and cold seasons, composite shingles expand and contract. That can open small gaps and cause the adhesive to deteriorate. These are gradual wear-and-tear issues, so it is never a bad idea to have your roof inspected for damage before it is too late.

How long does a full roof replacement take?

Under city ordinance we can begin the tear-off no earlier than 7 am and heavy machinery no earlier than 8 am. A re-roof of a single layer of shingles on a one-story house typically takes just one day. Larger projects, or unexpected additional construction, take no more than two full days including a thorough clean-up. All work depends on weather conditions.

Do you provide roofing services in my area?

We serve the entire Middle Tennessee area. Give us a call at (615) 802-4999 to see if we service your area.

Do I need to be present for the free inspection?

It may be in your best interest to be present so we can give you the most accurate assessment. There are often questions about your roof or property that are easier to explain and demonstrate in person. We are happy to work around your schedule.

When should I file an insurance claim?

Under obvious extreme conditions you should contact your insurance company to report a claim. For minor leaks or damage that would cost less than your deductible, we suggest saving your insurer for larger repair issues such as a roof replacement. Someone from our team can complete a free inspection at your convenience, recommend the best course of action, and provide insurance assistance.

How long does it take to process an insurance claim?

Depending on your insurance adjuster's workload, weather conditions and other factors, it usually takes approximately 5 to 10 business days for your insurance company to process the claim.

Is it safe to install a second or third layer of shingles?

No. Overlaying multiple layers is not a wise decision. Two or three layers can add up to 720 lbs per 100 square feet to your roof, which can cause permanent cosmetic damage such as bowing in the decking, and can put enough excess weight on the rafters to split or break them.

What are the benefits of proper attic ventilation?

Increasing proper ventilation in your attic can significantly reduce your utility bill and prolong the life span of your shingles.
